All in a good cause...

Ian Hutchinson got off the sofa and onto his bike to raise nearly £2,000 for the Yorkshire Cancer Centre following the deaths of three relatives and friends last year. Despite being overweight and over 50, he went down the gym, dusted off his old bike and got into serious training. Setting an heroic example to us all, he managed to complete the C2C in two days in early September.

C2C Challenge 2009 - a brilliant account

Sometime in May I rang Wendy…..just for a chat…..true to form the enthusiastic Wendy had a scheme in mind. She outlined the C2C Challenge and before I could think of a reason to say, ‘No’, I was saying, ’Yes.’

We had a few summit talks about bikes. Was the old Raleigh Richmond going to be up to the task? In the end the RR had smart new tough tyres and a saddle that had padding. Then there was the last minute camping equipment talk and then it was time to set off…..
